Senior ASIC Design Engineer

NXP USA, Inc. seeks Senior ASIC Design Engineer to work at its office in San Jose, CA

Job Description :

Performs semiconductor design engineering assignments including engineering and designing digital logic using hardware description language (HDL), design verification using industrial simulation tools, documenting specifications, modifying and evaluating semiconductor devices and components.

Design tradeoff analysis and provide implementation guidance to other team members, supporting critical customer issues, face challenging architecture and digital design work including IP integration into SOCs.

Contribute to technical projects within the areas of testing methods, device specification, and yield problems; perform redesign of devices, components, or integrated circuitry for hardware and other systems;

and will review product requirements and IEEE standard for device definition. Ensure compliance with design specifications, IEEE standard, and stated requirements.

Operate computer-assisted engineering software tools and configure the same to perform design engineering tasks and implement test programs and procedures.

Confer with customers and other departments on design status, processing, testing and technical issues, and failure analysis, and monitor production of products and devices to ensure conformance to design specifications.

Qualifications :

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering (with related variants such as VLSI or Physics), foreign equivalent or related field and two years of experience in job offered or similar occupation (all levels accepted) such as Systems Engineer, Application Engineer, Software Engineer, or closely related.

Required skills :

Position requires two years of experience in :

  • RTL Design using Verilog and System Verilog;
  • Finite State Machine;
  • UVM Based Verification;
  • Clock Domain Crossing;
  • Block Level Testing, and
  • Tools such as Synopsys VCS, Xilinx Vivado, and DVE.
