Job Purpose :
As a member of Tech Data s European headquarters, the Senior consultant European Profit Management operates across a wide variety of front-office disciplines helping country and central operations systematically achieve significant and sustainable gains in profitability through superior margin management, both, at product and customer leve l, to meet Corporate goals.
He / she is responsible to drive tangible profit improvements by prioritizing, transforming, standardizing and optimizing Tech Data’s pricing and gross profit management strategy, methodologies, tools and processes across our European operations.
This implies improving the performance of major gross profit components that include Front End Margin, Backend Margin, Net Freight and Customer Rebates.
He / she interacts with country management teams, executing and coordinating assigned activities to ensure that goals or objectives of business units are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Key contributor for the strategy, design, delivery and implementation of advanced standard methodologies, tools and processes aimed at providing sustainable results for major gross profit components such us Front End Margin, Back End Margin, Net Freight and Customer Rebates.
Collaborates with key members of local and central organizations and the European Profit Management community to provide strategic, analytical and implementation support in order to address potential risks and opportunities in the area of Gross Profit.
Monitors country results to identify major deviations from defined profitability plans, prioritizing immediate remediation measures and driving the implementation of the required levers jointly with local teams.
Supports the European Profit Management Community that shares ideas and best practices, driving further harmonization and standardization across the region.
Drives the definition of functional specs of IT innovations related to profit management improvement opportunities liaising with IT and in-country business users to define priority and rollout strategy.
Creates a workplace climate that encourages commitment and that motivates staff to perform.

Actively oversees the company’s operating policies and practices and ensures these meet and exceed where possible, all corporate requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director, European Profit Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, skill and / or ability required.
At least 3-5 years working experience in profitable large scale multi-site or single site business units, in a relevant discipline, ideally management consultancy, pricing or operations.
Graduate degree required / preference given to those candidates possessing MBA.
Fluent in English (other languages a benefit), exceptional verbal, written and communication skills.
Previous experience implementing large multisite / geography projects (ideally business transformation or profit optimization ) with tangible financial impact / OI improvements.
Moderate to in-depth proven experience in program design, execution and transformation management, utilizing structured methodologies and metrics with high process orientation.
Willingness to work in a multi-cultural and multi-skilled team.
Adept at motivating and obtaining results , leading by example with a hands-on management style possessing advanced analytical and fact-based decision making.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; SAP knowledge is a plus.
Experience in relationship building and facilitation skills with business partners; influence without authority; comfortable interacting with senior management.
Able to operate effectively and constructively in a multi-task environment under stress and pressure.
Self-motivator able to define and achieve clear individual, team and company priorities within necessary time frames and budget.
Extensive root cause diagnosis and problem-solving skills, comfortable translating abstract conceptual information into concrete actionable strategy.
An ability to stimulate others to successfully drive change and absorb new ideas.
Advanced leadership and communications discipline able to manage in a matrix team environment.
Strength in dealing with senior executives and peers to successfully implement change.
